1. Acquisition and storage of wooden piles

a. The wooden piles are mainly purchased at the local timber market and transported to the construction site by car. The wooden piles are purchased from 4m pine logs with a diameter of 300px. Peel and check the material to ensure the quality. There must be no defects or excessive bends. In case of individual bent wooden piles, ensure that the convex part faces the foundation pit. The pile body must not have holes, cracks or other defects that can damage the strength.

b. When lifting, loading, unloading, and stacking wooden piles, the pile body shall not be subject to impact or vibration to avoid damage to the pile body. When the wooden piles are used, they should be used in the order they are transported to the construction site, and the wooden piles should be inspected at the same time. Whether the piles are complete. The foundation for storing wooden piles must be solid and flat, and there must be no subsidence to avoid deformation of the wooden piles.

2. Drive test piles and confirm the length of the piles.

Because the community wall is about 170m long, a test pile is driven every 20m along the starting end of the wall, so 9 test piles were selected to roughly confirm the pile length and stress conditions.

3. Before piling, the top of the pile must be cut and flattened, and the pile body must be maintained without any collision scars that may affect its function to ensure that the top of the pile is not damaged during piling.

4. Production of pine wood piles

a. The diameter of the pile is strictly controlled according to the planning requirements, and the shape is straight and round;

b. The small end is cut into a 750px long tip to facilitate hitting the holding layer;

c. When more than 80% of the total number of piles are prepared, the excavator is called in to carry out piling construction to avoid the excavator being idle while waiting for piles;

d. Place the prepared piles in place according to different sizes and application areas to prepare for pile driving;

e. It is prohibited to use unqualified or other wood to replace pine wood.

5. Measurement and setting out

Before the construction of pine wood piles, surveyors will set out according to the planning drawings, confirm the driving position of each wooden pile, and use measuring wooden piles to mark them.
