Round wood pile tree species and structural characteristics: Round wood piles of different tree species have different structures. The size and number of their pits, as well as the size of the micropores on the pit film, are very different. Therefore, it is difficult for water to move along the above paths. There are differences in ease, that is, the round wood pile tree species is the main internal factor affecting the drying speed. Because there are many fillings in the tubes and pits of ring-porous hard broad-leaved trees (such as rosewood), the diameter of the micropores on the pit film is small, so Its drying speed is significantly lower than that of diffuse-pore broad-leaved trees; in the same tree species, the density increases, the water flow resistance in the large capillaries increases, and the water dispersion pathways in the cell walls extend, making it difficult to dry.

Thickness of round wood piles: The conventional drying process of round wood piles can be approximately considered as a one-dimensional heat and mass transfer process along the wood thickness direction. As the thickness increases, the heat and mass transfer interval becomes longer, the resistance increases, and the drying speed decreases significantly.

Moisture content of log piles: below the fiber saturation point, as the moisture content decreases, the lateral dispersion coefficient of adsorbed water decreases, while the dispersion coefficient of water vapor in the cell cavity increases, because water vapor in the cells during the drying process The proportion of dispersion in the cavity is not large. The lower the water content, the longer the water dispersion path, so the lower the water content, the harder it is to dry.
